“Declaring the Kingdom of God”
In Jeremiah 31:31-34 the prophet reveals God’s plan of a ‘New’ or ‘Renewed’ Covenant.
The word “new” (Strongs 2319) which means “a fresh new thing” comes from (2318) which according to Gesenius Hebrew Lexicon has the meaning of a “dull sword being sharpened and then highly polished” so that it is restored to its original glory, intention, purpose and usefulness
It’s outlined as follows; –
It’s with (at the time of writing) the divided Kingdoms of “the House of Israel, and the House of Judah”, yet believing Gentiles, (wild olive branches) “will be grafted in to partake of the rich root of the olive tree Israel”; as it states in Romans 11:17.
1. “I will put My Law (8451) ie Torah in their inward parts, (into their mind), and write it in their hearts; and I will be to them, their God, and they shall be to Me, My people”.
This will be achieved through the “born again”or “born from above” experience (see What We Believe) which changes people from the inside so that the Word of God will be welcome and take root in their lives.
Total forgiveness of sins. “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness and forgive their iniquity, and their sin and their iniquities I will remember no more”.
And so it is in the lives of the Believer, God has taken us and begun a work in our hearts to restore His original intention for mankind, His original purpose for mankind and conforming them to His original image in Messiah, thus making the believer again a fit and useful vessel in the Kingdom of God.
Preparing a People for an Eternal Destiny.
The Holy Scriptures reveal God’s “Love-plan” for mankind and that is to make a house for His people to live with Him eternally. This is done by preparing a people redeemed by His Son, the Messiah Yeshua, who are made up of believing Jews and Gentites which as Paul the Apostle writes are “One new man’ and ‘one in Messiah.”
As we are one of millions of congregations in the world, New Covenant Community desires to find out what pleases God, and in faith make the appropriate adjustments in order to conform to the image of Messiah. Also as individuals we are at different stages and levels in our walk in Messiah, yet our goal is the same.
